This course is equivalent to 4 two hour private sessions with Heather but with more information packed into the same time! You will have a good grounding of information and direction to help you paint a Photo Realistic painting of Rocks in oils after completing this course. The painting in this course is 30 x 30cm. (which takes around 8 - 10 hours to complete) But you can use any square size you like, and as big as you like. The bigger you go the more detail you can do!

Heather was born in Rochester, Victoria, Australia in 1966 and currently lives in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. (also lived in Tasmania for 18 years) She is a mother of four boys and has worked in the media and graphic design industry for around twenty-six years, connecting with people from all over the world. She loves drawing and painting large photo realistic images inspired by nature, reflections and water droplets. She is the Managing Director and owner of KAPI ART SPACE, a Studio Gallery in the Dandenong Ranges, Australia, where the mission is to bring individuals and groups fully alive in their creative dreams!

Her work is a visual diary, reflecting the life and hope that water brings. Heather has been a finalist in the Tasmanian Glover Prize in 2013 & in the Fleurieu Art Prize Adelaide. Holding numerous exhibitions over the years and producing 2 books and many online courses based on her works she has been highly commended in art shows around Melbourne and featured in numerous publications both in Australia and overseas.

Heather currently mentors and teaches creative direction through painting and drawing and runs various courses and programs for people and groups who want to explore the heart rhythm of their creative journey.

She has been a coordinator and manager for many community programs in Australia and overseas including festivals, arts programs, and retreats. Heather also enjoys working with indigenous artists, swimming, walking in the Australian bush, and spending time with her family.

Can I do this course if I use acrylics?
If you want to use acrylics instead of oils you can in this course. You can skip over the 'how to use oil piants' sections and go to the 'painting the rocks'. Its totally up to you. I understand some people cant use oils because of health reasons. You can also find some oil paints that are water soluble if you like.
Can I use any sized canvas I like?
In any of these courses you can use smaller or larger canvases. Just take note that if you do use a bigger canvas, you will need to take more time with your detail. Main thing is that the size feels right for you!
What is the youngest age for this course?
This course is for all ages. The main thing is that the artist has a passion to learn and have some patience! As to long as you have a parent helping a child can begin as young as 4 years old! But if following it on their own, I would suggest the youngest age would be around 8.
